Friendship is spending time with someone you trust and enjoy. Just as Jesus spent time with His friends so they could get to know Him better, we can build trust and have fun with our friends as we spend time with them!

But so often we take friendship for granted. We daily have friend requests on Facebook that make us feel hyper-connected with “strangers” on the other side of the Internet connection. We live in a culture struggling to define true friendship . . . Yet in spite of that, we can know what true friendship is all about. God went to the ends of the earth to make friendship with Him possible. He sacrificed His only Son, Jesus, to bridge the gap in our relationship!

This week we learned that "friends accept one another". Even if someone has different interests than us, has a different background, or makes a bad choice, we can still accept and help them and become friends with them!

Our memory verse is:  Proverbs 17:17  A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when trouble comes.”  So when a friend is having a tough time, our acceptance can make a big difference in helping that friend!!

We had so much fun this past Sunday in Kids Church making silly new names out of the letters of our given names, then we made positive encouraging names for our selves, singing playing games and listening to the most awesome story of friendship between Paul, Annanias, and Barnabus!
Be sure to Join us Each Sunday @10:30 AM as we continue to learn about Friendship!!

MARCH

This Month we are talking about "HONESTY"
Honesty is: Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do
What God says is true. He has shown us that time and time again. And that’s one of the reasons we know we can trust God. BUT .... the same should be true in our own lives! If we want other people to trust us, we need to live honest lives. When we tell the truth and we follow through with our promises, other people learn to trust us. But when we cover up who we are, what we’ve done, or we constantly break our promises, then the people around us stop trusting us.
When you are not truthful you lose trust and you hurt others that care about you!
That might mean admitting when we’ve done something wrong or made an embarrassing mistake ...Or... it may be as simple as following through on the things we have promised! Whatever the circumstances, this month look for ways to be honest so that others can trust you!

The kids Memory Verse this month is:
An honest person has respect for the Lord.” Proverbs 14:2a, NIrV.

The Bible challenges us to reflect this kind of honesty!   And as we show honesty in our own lives, we will build relationships of trust with those around us. A person who respects God uses truthful words, keeps their promises, and follows through with what they say as well as  earn the trust of others.

Kids see you each Sunday @ 9:30AM for Sunday School (which is totally awesome and fun!)  and then we will see you in Kids church at 10:30AM for more awesomeness!!

Love Other by Forgiving!

This week I told the Kids in Kids Church the story found in John 21:15-19. If you have time read it ...
It's a story about LOVE and RESTORATION ......  Love is choosing to give someone your time and friendship no matter what!  You know spending time with someone and being their friend is usually easy, but it's that "no matter what" part that can be hard!!  Especially when someone hurts us ..... There have been people in my life that have hurt me really bad, or even let me down and it has really hurt me.
But the Bible says ... that we can show love to others ..... by forgiving them!  Hmmmm  .... that's tough stuff!  .....  I don't know about you but I need to be reminded of that!  Just like Jesus forgave Peter for denying Him in His darkest hour, we can forgive others when they hurt us or let us down.

Dear God, Thank you for forgiving me!  I know I've let you down more than three times in my life, but every time you forgave me!  Help me to treat others the way I want to be treated by forgiving them! Help our kids to grasp this lesson and practice it every day!   AMEN :)
