It Was A Golden Day!

Today was a GOLDEN DAY!  Totally Awesome!  We taught about the "Golden Rule"! Luke 6:31

Our lesson started in Luke 6:17-20,27-36.) You know Jesus was so kind that whenever people heard He was gonna speak some where they all did everything they could to get there, because they wanted to hear what He had to say!  He was so amazingly kind to everyone!  

“Kindness is showing others they are valuable by how you treat them!

“In Luke 6  “Jesus taught us to do the opposite of what you feel like doing. So instead of being mean to your enemies, love them, do good things for them, and even give generously to them!  Yes you heard right!   Then Jesus said it … what we call the ‘Golden Rule.’ We find it in Luke 6:31 Jesus said, ‘Do to others as you want them to do to you.’

You see everyone, even people who don’t believe in God, expect people to love and be good to people who are already going to love them back. That’s not hard or even unexpected! Jesus also said that everyone, even people who don’t obey God, would give if they know they’re going to get something in return.

But Jesus’ words were much more UNEXPECTED! He wasn’t telling us to do what’s ‘expected.’ He was telling us to do the UNexpected. Jesus was teaching us how to show kindness in what we say, what we do, and in what we give. Jesus wants us to love, do good, and give UNexpectedly!

I know our kids were totally getting it today!  They were all so well behaved, helping each other, respecting each other and our volunteers! They earned the GOLD they went home with!  

So Kids remember, GO KINDA CRAZY SHOWING KINDNESS THIS MONTH!  We can't wait to hear about all the random acts of "KINDNESS" you showed this week!  Maybe it will be with helping your younger (or older) brother or sister with a task, or playing a game with them, or helping them with their school work, or maybe helping mom with the dishes, or setting the table, or maybe even giving your dad (or mom) a foot massage after work!  GO CRAZY with Kindness and Tell US ALL ABOUT IT!
